restraint
wisdom may come
in setting the birds free
but realisation dawns
restrained or otherwise
truth
beware the fool
carrying water in a sieve.
he may fall upon a truth
and be exalted
half an apple
worlds within worlds
can be seen
green and clean
within the symmetry
and new life seeds
unless we hunger
a snowflake, a snowman, a pool of water
a rock crumbles
when struck,
a dog will bite
or cower in fear
the beauty of a snowflake
the charm of a snowman
a pool of water
attachment
take no pride in ownership
do not fear poverty
cast aside possession
for in the end there is no you
and you belong to them
broken glass
the images of forgotten dreams
lay trampled underfoot.
I stop looking around
and arrive at the top of the mountain
inevitability
moon shine
calls my name
grips my heart
and my hands
turn to ice
stillness
shadows blow gently
through the trees
and the wind
calms the stillness
of my mind
progress
life passes by and
falls into a ditch
sitting at the cliff edge
illusion passes by
and strangely starts a rift
carrying us to places unknown
with little but the surety
that through all we have grown
and the stream meanders on
taking us this way and that
through cracks and crevices
it takes us there
and as it takes me there
i feel stripped bare
of ego and trappings
what i didnt know
was yet to show
and humility is set to
'right size'
